Models vs. Machines

Models vs. Machines

AI has officially entered the modeling business, and apparently, it never gets tired, arrives late, gains weight, or complains about an early call time. Brands can create virtual models, switch outfits and locations in seconds, and produce campaigns for a fraction of the usual cost. For agencies and real models, AI can also be a handy tool for concepts, castings, portfolios, and figuring out whether an idea works before everyone shows up on set.

The scary part? The model who never complains also never needs to get paid. Too much AI could mean fewer bookings not only for models, but also for photographers, stylists, makeup artists, and the rest of the crew. Still, a perfect digital face can only do so much. Fashion sells fantasy, but people still connect with people. For now, AI can have a seat at the casting, but maybe not the whole runway.
